Award reflect’s the power of analytics and technology to save lives and disrupt online harms.

We are delighted to announce that Adam Hadley, CEO of QuantSpark, has been appointed as Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) by King Charles III. This prestigious honour recognises Adam's significant contributions to counter-terrorism and tackling the terrorist exploitation of the internet.

Due to Adam’s expertise in analysing terrorist content, Adam was asked by the United Nations in 2016 to establish Tech Against Terrorism, an initiative to drive public and private action to disrupt terrorist content online. Since its launch, and with analytical and technical support from QuantSpark, Tech Against Terrorism has identified tens of thousands of pieces of terrorist content and proactively alerted tech platforms to have this taken down.

In some instances, their threat intelligence has also been used to thwart plots and save lives. Today, as part of the Online Harms Foundation QuantSpark’s not-for-profit subsidiary Tech Against Terrorism advises the public and private sectors on emerging trends in hostile actor adaptation online, including the harmful use of Generative AI.

Tech Against Terrorism has been cited in several UN Security Resolutions and is unique in the diverse set of disciplines it unites to disrupt terrorist activity online.

At QuantSpark, we proudly support Tech Against Terrorism in its mission. By leveraging our expertise in analytics and artificial intelligence, we have collaborated closely to develop innovative solutions that enhance our understanding and disruption of terrorist activities online. For instance, our engineers have contributed to the development of the Terrorist Content Analytics Platform, the world’s first alert system for verified terrorist content. Our partnership exemplifies how the strategic application of advanced technologies can address complex global challenges.

On receiving the award, Adam said: “I am deeply honoured to receive this award. It reflects the incredible work of the entire team at Tech Against Terrorism, and the wider QuantSpark family all relentlessly committed to safeguarding our online communities. We aim to save lives and prevent harm by disrupting terrorists and violent extremists online.”

We remain dedicated to continuing our collaboration with Tech Against Terrorism and furthering our shared goal of creating a safer digital world for future generations.
